For more details about eligibility, shopping hours, and guidelines, please see our FAQs at the bottom of the page.
We use the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s annual Low Income Report to identify public schools where 70% or more of students are considered economically disadvantaged. Eligible schools are invited to participate through their school administration. When the administration accepts our invitation to partner, teachers are then eligible to join our efforts in providing essential supplies to their students in need.
In calendar year 2025, 89 schools met the criteria for partnership with an enrollment of 48,100 students. We partnered with 584 teachers from 59 schools, reaching more than 27,000 students.

A school supply free store is a nonprofit organization where all items are available at no additional cost to teachers. It is a retail space with shelves, fixtures and shopping carts where lead core classroom teachers have equal access to school supplies for their students and classrooms.

There is no monetary value limit to how much teacher partners can take for their students. We ask teachers to shop responsibly and only for the students in their classroom.
Some individual items are limited at certain times of the school year to ensure that merchandise is fairly distributed to all students. Those items are clearly marked with the maximum quantities allowed, based on typical class sizes and time of school year. Teachers may visit as needed to procure the supplies needed for their students.
